Somerset Patriots News Release
Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (23-10) shutout the Long Island Ducks (18-15) 3-0 Friday evening at TD Bank Ballpark. The Somerset pitching staff has now hurled 22 consecutive scoreless innings.
In the bottom of the second inning shortstop Robert Andino roped a RBI single to give Somerset a 1-0 advantage.
First baseman Chris Marrero clubbed a two run home run (6) to extend the Patriots lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
David Harden earned the win (3-1) tossing five scoreless innings. He has now thrown 13 consecutive scoreless innings dating back to his last three outings. Billy Buckner endured the loss (0-1) as he lasted four innings and gave up three runs on five hits. Jon Hunton notched the save (6) pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
