KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - Charleston's Jimmy Paredes collected five total hits, including a 4-for-4 performance in game two, to help the RiverDogs rebound from a 7-1 loss in game one and take the nightcap, 10-6, in South Atlantic League action at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Charleston sits at 22-29 after the twinbill split, while Kannapolis fashions a 26-25 record.

Hector Rabago followed with a RBI single to centerfield cutting the score to 3-2. Kelvin Castro's RBI fielder's choice tied the game at 3-3, and then Ray Kruml struck out swinging, but reached first on a wild pitch from starter Andre Rienzo, allowing Higashioka to score for the 4-3 advantage.
Paredes then came to the plate against newly-inserted reliever J.R. Ballinger and pasted a three-run home run over the centerfield wall, increasing the lead to 7-3. On the clout, Ballinger allowed his first earned run of the year in 23 innings of work.
Murton added his seventh home run of the year in the fifth against Ballinger to up the margin to 8-3.
The lead was trimmed to 8-6 in the bottom half, as Kannapolis received a two-run double from Rafael Vera and a RBI double from Kyle Colligan, but Ryan Acosta got the last two batters to fly out to end the inning.
The sixth saw the RiverDogs put men at first and second with one out, when J.R. Murphy's groundball to Vera was mishandled for one error, then his throw to second sailed into right field bring Castro home for a 9-6 count. Zoilo Almonte gave Charleston a 10-6 lead with a RBI single to centerfield, marking the first time the team has scored double-digit runs in a game since August 25, 2009.
Acosta (3-1) picked up his second win of the road trip in 1.0 inning of relief, while Ryan Flannery retired all six batters he faced in 2.0 perfect frames.

Paredes' four hits and three RBI paced Charleston's 11-hit attack, while Murton added a double to go along with his fifth-inning home run.
In game one, Kannapolis loaded the bases in the bottom of the first against RiverDogs starter Kelvin Perez, and Brady Shoemaker unloaded them with a grand slam to centerfield for his fourth circuit clout of the season and a quick 4-0 lead.
That lead grew to 6-0 in the fourth on Jake Oester's RBI double and sacrifice fly from Kyle Colligan.
Shoemaker drilled his second home run of the game off Perez over the right-field wall in the fifth inning, making the score 7-0.
Charleston got its lone run in the sixth for a 7-1 score, when Paredes singled, moved to second on a wild pitch, and then darted home on a Kannapolis error.
