The Cougars seized control early in the opening period when Parascak capitalized on a 5-on-3 power-play opportunity, giving Prince George a 1-0 lead at 7:50. Despite Vancouver's numerous scoring chances in the first period, Ravensbergen's outstanding performance kept the Cougars ahead 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Prince George extended their lead courtesy of Zac Funk, who notched his milestone 60th and 61st goals within two minutes of each other, pushing the Cougar lead to 3-0.
