Tigers Drop Third Straight in 8-3 Loss to Prince Albert

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders scored three times in the third and eventually coming away with a 6-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night at the Art Hauser Centre.

The hometown Raiders opened the scoring at the 8:00 mark as Sloan Stanick would be at Tigers goaltender Zach Zahara off the rush for his 30th of the season and a 1-0 Prince Albert. The Raiders would continue to add to their lead as Niall Crocker would break-in at 11:39 for a 2-0 lead. The Raiders weren't done as Ryder Ritchie would make pay dirt for his 16th of the campaign at 15:02 to make it 3-0 Prince Albert. That lead would carry over into the second period.

Prince Albert would continue to push their lead, as on an early power play Brayden Dube would go end-to-end for his 15th of the season at 1:47 and it's 4-0 Raiders. The Tigers would finally break through on a dribbler from Reid Andresen (Saskatoon, SK) would be credited with his 8th of the year from Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB) at 4:36. With the lead 4-1, the Raiders would get back up by four at 9:17 when Justice Christensen would counter on a turnover in the Tiger end for Prince Albert's 5th of the season. Medicine Hat would finally get a shot on the power play for the first time 11:53 and on that advantage. Hunter St. Martin (Edmonton, AB) would jam his 23rd of the season, Tyler MacKenzie (Red Deer, AB) & Josh Van Mulligen (Medicine Hat, AB) would get assists on the play.

Medicine Hat would continue to trail by three, down 5-2 heading to the third period.

In the final frame Prince Albert would get their 6th of the night just 39 seconds in from Aiden Oiring. Medicine Hat would then respond with Tyler MacKenzie re-directing an Andrew Basha point shot, as Tomas Mrsic (Surrey, BC) would benefit on the third Tiger goal. But that was as close as they would get as the Raiders would get two more goals, one from Ryder Ritchie at 12:32 and Brayden Dube at 17:29.

With the loss the Tigers have lost three straight for the first time this season. Dropping their record to 35-22-5-2.

Next up for the Orange & Black, a home-at-home series with the Swift Current Broncos starting Friday, March 15 in Swift Current, followed by a home game against Swift Current on the Saturday, March 16.
