(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have signed forward Sam Paolini to a contract.

Nick Vitucci, head coach and Director of Player Personal said, "Sam Paolini is clearly an offensive threat each and every time he steps on the ice. He is the kind of player every team could use."

Paolini, whose rights came to Toledo on June 4th, will be heading into his second pro season after a 4-year career at Cornell University. Sam played in 63 games with the Bullies last season, and the forward netted 46 points (18-28). Paolini appeared in 5 games at the American Hockey league level with Cleveland and Rochester. During his time at Cornell University, Sam scored 37 goals and added 51 assists. In 2003, he was the recipient of the College Hockey Humanitarian of the Year Award. Sam did so by setting up a "Power Play for Prevention", which raised over $11,000 for the Ithaca Breast Cancer Alliance.

Sam talked about coming to Toledo, "I am excited to be to Toledo, and to a team that I believe is going to be very good. I want to be one of the guys that help to bring this franchise back to the elite in the ECHL. I like what Nick Vitucci has done so far and I am proud to be a part."
