Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Cody Palmquist's 11-strikeout, seven-inning scoreless outing was for naught as the Tri-City Dust Devils topped the Spokane Indians, 3-1, in 11 innings on Friday night in front of 7,043 fans at Avista Stadium. It was Yoke's $1 Family Feast Night presented by Yoke's Fresh Markets and 92.9 ZZU.
Palmquist confused the Dust Devils all night, only allowing three hits on an otherwise perfect evening. The Fort Meyers, Fla., native now has a team-high 27 strikeouts on the team and sports a 2.52 ERA.
The Indians took the late in the eighth inning after Doug Votolato led off with a double to left field. After a LeDarious Clark single, Dylan Moore grounded out to second, scoring Votolato for a 1-0 lead.
Omarlin Lopez came on in the ninth to close things out, but quickly loaded the bases before recording an out. Tri-City tied the ballgame with a sac fly to centerfield. In the 11th, John Kukuruda allowed two runs to score, one on a balk and the other on a passed ball.
Both Clark and Moore collected two hits in five at-bats, and Todd McDonald added his first hit as a Spokane Indian. Votolato finished 2-for-3 with one walk. Yeyson Yriarri's nine-game hitting streak snapped in an 0-for-5 effort.
The Indians head on an 11-game road trip starting tomorrow. You can listen to the Voice of the Spokane Indians, Mike Boyle, on SportsRadio 1510 KGA starting at 6:00 PM each night.
Spokane will return home on Wednesday, July 29th, $100 Strikeout Night, presented by Banner Bank and KXLY-AM 920. Click here for tickets!
