July 18, 2015 - Northwest League (NWL1)
Everett AquaSox News Release
EVERETT, Wash. - Vancouver jumped out to an early lead and kept adding with 17 hits in a 7-2 win over the AquaSox on Friday, July 17, at Everett Memorial Stadium. Logan Taylor led the Frogs, going 1 for 4 with a solo home run and pair of RBIs.
Everett got one run in the bottom of the first, after Drew Jackson singled, stole second and took third on an error. Taylor was able to knock him in on a groundout to close the early gap to 2-1.
Vancouver would add three in the fifth and two in the sixth before the Frogs got one back. Taylor again tried to keep the AquaSox in it with a solo home run over the wall in right-center. That put the Frogs in spitting distance of the lead at 7-2, but Vancouver added two in the eighth and one more in the ninth to finish it off 10-2.
Justin Atkinson was the big hitter for the Canadians, going 4 for 6 with a pair of home runs, four RBIs and three runs.
The AquaSox take a five-game trip to Hillsboro to take on the Hops beginning tomorrow, Saturday, July 18. They return home for a pair of three-game sets with Spokane and Vancouver beginning at 7:05 p.m. Thursday, July 23. Tickets are available online at aquasox.com/tickets and in the front office at 3802 Broadway in Everett.
