
Atkinson paces C's to series sweep of Aquasox

(Memorial Stadium - Everett, WA) - Surrey, B.C. native Justin Atkinson was relentless in his offensive attack of the Everett Aquasox on Friday night going 4-for-6 with a pair of home runs while Ryan Metzler had his first four-hit performance as a professional helping the Canadians drub Everett 10-2 to complete a series sweep of the Aquasox on Friday night.
The victory, Vancouver's third straight, improved the Canadians to 11-18 (.379) on the season and moved them to six back of the North Division leading Aquasox who now are just one game up on Tri-City who grabbed an extra inning victory in Spokane with nine first-half games remaining.
Canadians starter RHP Jon Harris went four innings allowing four hits and one earned run to drop his ERA to 3.14 on the season while RHP Sean Ratcliffe (2-1) went 2 1/3 of scoreless baseball to pick up the victory. LHP Lane Ratliff (1-3) took the loss.
Vancouver returns to Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium on Saturday, July 18 at 7:05pm to open up an eight-game home stand against Eugene (July 18-22) and Tri-City (July 23-25).
