
Hawks Walk-off On Castro Single

Boise, Idaho - Luis Castro slapped a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth as the Hawks won their third straight game, defeating the Spokane Indians by a score of 4-3.
Logan Sawyer took the mound for the Hawks and was rewarded with an early second inning lead on a Luis Castro RBI fielder's choice.
In the third inning, following back-to-back singles from Kevin Padlo and Brian Mundell, Marcos Derkes stepped to the plate and delivered a two-run double that gave the Hawks a 3-0 lead.
The Indians grabbed one run in the seventh inning before tying the game at 3-3 in the top of the ninth off a Tyler Sanchez two-run home run.
In the bottom of the ninth, Carlos Herrera legged out a two-out infield single and stole second base before Luis Castro ripped an RBI single into left field, scoring Herrera and giving the Hawks the 4-3 win.
Taylor Black picked up his first win for the Hawks and Luis Parra was credited with the loss for the Indians.
The Hawks (11-19) meet the Indians (14-16) again tomorrow night at Memorial Stadium. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
Notes: Kevin Padlo stole his league leading 16th base of the season... The Hawks walked off for the first time since September 1, 2014 at Salem-Keizer... Steven Leonard went 2-4 and is now 7-15 in his professional career.
