Pair of RoughRiders earn weekly League Honors

CEDAR RAPIDS- Cedar Rapids RoughRiders forward Jordan Timmons was named USHL Forward of the Week and Goaltender Blake Pietila was named USHL Goaltender of the Week for their efforts this past week. The RoughRiders went 2-1 on the week, falling 3-1 on the road in Green Bay Tuesday, before sweeping a pair of home games this past weekend, Friday defeating Chicago 2-0 and Saturday over Dubuque 7-1.

Timmons, a 2nd year forward from Pittsburgh, PA, scored five goals and added an assist in three games this past week, including the game winning goal on Friday against Chicago. On the season, the UCONN commit has scored eight goals and added four assists in 20 games.

Pietila, from Howell, Michigan, is in his first season with the RoughRiders. Pietila went 2-1 on the week including a shutout of Chicago on Friday and stopping 32 of 33 shots Saturday in the 7-1 win against in-state rival Dubuque. The Michigan Tech commit is now 5-3 on the season.

The RoughRiders are on the road this week in Youngstown, Ohio for a pair of games Thursday and Friday with the Phantoms before the team heads home for the Holidays. The teams next home game will be on Wednesday, December 27th when Chicago returns to Cedar Rapids.
