USHL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK - WEEK 10 Pair of Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Team USA defenseman earn weekly honors

The United States Hockey League announced the Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week for Week 10 of the 2017-18 season. A pair of Cedar Rapids RoughRiders - forward Jordan Timmons and goaltender Blake Pietila - earned their first USHL weekly honors, while Team USA defenseman K'Andre Miller was named USHL Defenseman of the Week for the second time this season. Timmons recorded seven points in three games last week, including a pair of two-goal performances, Miller put up two points in Team USA's win over Central Illinois on Saturday and Pietila won two of his three starts last week, stopping 82 shots in the process. The USHL is America's only Tier 1 junior hockey league, and continues to lead the world in the advancement of Division I college hockey athletes.

Forward: Jordan Timmons - Cedar Rapids RoughRiders

3 GP: 5 goals, 1 assist, +8 rating

Timmons scored a goal in Green Bay on Tuesday and followed it up with a pair of two-goal performances on the weekend, both resulting in RoughRiders victories. He also added an assist in Cedar Rapids' win on Saturday over Dubuque to go along with his two tallies. The University of Connecticut commit doubled his point tally over the course of the last week, as he has now registered 12 points (8G, 4A) in 20 games this season, including three multi-point performances. The Pittsburgh, PA native is in his second full USHL season and put up 14 points (3G, 11A) through 36 games in 2016-17. He was also named to last year's USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. Prior to his time in Cedar Rapids, Timmons also played for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Sioux City Musketeers and Pittsburgh Penguins Elite (T1EHL).

Defenseman: K'Andre Miller - Team USA

1 GP: 1 goal, 1 assist, +2 rating

Miller played in one game over the weekend and made the most of it, scoring a goal and adding an assist as Team USA knocked off the Central Illinois Flying Aces 4-2 on Saturday night. The University of Wisconsin commit continues to produce from the back end, leading all Team USA defenseman in scoring with nine points (3G, 6A) through seven games. Saturday also marked his third multi-point game of the season. This marks Miller's second USHL Defenseman of the Week honor this season, as he previously won the award on Nov. 20. Miller is in his second USHL season and finished with seven assists in 34 games as a member of Team USA's U17 team in 2016-17. This year, he was named to the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects game and was named a B-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's Players to Watch List in November. Before suiting up for Team USA, Miller played for Minnetonka (USHS).

Goaltender: Blake Pietila - Cedar Rapids RoughRiders

2-1-0-0, 1.35 GAA, .953 SV%

Pietila was busy between the pipes last week but played extremely well, finishing with a 2-1-0-0 record and making 82 saves over the course of three games. He stopped 25 shots on Tuesday in Green Bay, pitched a 25-save shutout on Friday against the Chicago Steel, the first of his USHL career, and followed that up by turning aside 32 of the 33 shots he faced to earn a win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints on Saturday. The Michigan Tech commit now sports a 5-3-0-1 record, a 3.02 GAA and .900 SV% in nine appearances this season. He has also seen a lot of rubber this year, stopping 25 or more shots in seven of those nine appearances. Pietila is in his first season in the USHL and previously played for Compuware (HPHL) and Little Caesars (HPHL).

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 16th season as the nation's only Tier I junior hockey league in 2017-18. 30 or more players from the USHL have been selected in five consecutive NHL Drafts, and more than 400 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world's foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
