Donations benefitted Toys for Tots in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa - 1,300 stuffed animals were tossed onto the ice as the Dubuque Fighting Saints, along with media partner Dubuque's Super Hits 106.1 FM, hosted Teddy Bear Toss Night on Saturday, December 2. All of the stuffed animals were donated to Toys for Tots Dubuque, the recipient of the best chapter in the Midwest region.

About 50 large stuffed animals were included as part of the donation.

"We couldn't be happier to have helped spread the holiday cheer with our annual Teddy Bear Toss Night," said Katie Kenne, the Fighting Saints' Vice President. "Our fans and our staff succeeded in making sure to help put smiles on the faces of people in need this holiday season. Thank you all for making this special night happen!"

Toys for Tots is an organization run by the United States Marine Corps that distributes toys for underprivileged kids. As of 2016, Toys for Tots has distributed over 512 million toys for kids all over the United States.

The Teddy Bear Toss has been a growing tradition throughout the hockey world during the holiday season. The Fighting Saints organization hosted its eighth-annual Teddy Bear Toss- one for each season of the organization's rebirth in 2010.
