Padres to hold tryout camp at Memorial Stadium

Fort Wayne, IN - The San Diego Padres, the single-A affiliate of the Fort Wayne Wizards in the Midwest League, will host a Major League Tryout Camp on Wednesday, June 14 at Memorial Stadium.

High school juniors through college seniors, between the ages of 15 and 21, are invited to showcase their skills at the tryout camp for area scouts of the Padres.

Registration for the event will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the tryout camp officially starting at 9:00 a.m. Scouts and personnel directors from the Padres organization will handle the entire tryout camp. No player signing decisions will be made by the Wizards organization.

Players do not need to pre-register for the tryout camp through the Fort Wayne Wizards.

Players who will be trying out need to bring their own uniform, gloves, shoes and if needed, catching equipment. Baseballs, wood bats and batting helmets will be supplied by the Padres and Wizards organizations.
