
Padres recall Headley; outright Humer to Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. - The San Diego Padres today recalled Portland outfielder Chase Headley and outrighted outfielder Justin Huber to Portland.
Headley, 24, hit .305 with 13 home runs, 24 doubles, 31 walks, 49 runs scored and 40 RBIs in 65 games with the Beavers. The Texas League Player of the Year and Padres Minor League Player of the Year in 2007, Headley made his major league debut with the Padres last season, going 4-for-18 (.222) with a double and a run scored in eight games over two stints with the club.
The 25-year-old Huber batted .246 (15-for-61) with three doubles, two home runs, eight RBIs and five runs scored in 33 games for the Padres this season. Acquired from the Kansas City Royals on March 26, Huber has a .220 career batting average (35-for-159) with seven doubles, two home runs, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored in 71 major league games over parts of four seasons with the Royals (2005-07) and Padres (2008).
