
9th Inning Rally Helps Tucson Split Series

Pinch hitter Matt Morgan hit an RBI single with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to plate the winning run and split the series with the Sky Sox 2-2. Wilkin Castillo previously tied the game in the ninth when he hit a single to left field scoring two. The Next batter, Trent Oeltjen, walked to load the bases before Morgan came up to deliver the game winner.
Colorado Springs' Cory Sullivan started off the game with a line drive single and later was brought home off a Seth Smith home run to right to give the Sky Sox an early 2-0 lead.
Tucson put up one run in the third with Castillo solo shot over the right field fence. The Sky Sox extended their lead in the fifth inning with a Sullivan three run homer.
Tucson put one a run in the seventh and one in the eighth to cut the Sky Sox lead by two. Josh Whitesell hit a solo home run in the seventh and a sacrifice fly by Robby Hammock brought in the eighth inning run.
The Sidewinders will head to Portland to start a four game series on Tuesday at 7:05 PM. RHP A.J. Shappi (2-3, 6.35) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Left-hander Wade LeBlanc (6-5, 7.01) will start for the Beavers. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:55 p.m.
