Pack The House Night with the Ice
January 19, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Indianapolis Ice News Release
Indianapolis-Celebrating ten years of helping Central Indiana youth organizations with grants and additional fund raising activities, the Indianapolis Ice Pack the House Night 2004 is back with one of its most FUN activities yet. In preparation for the Memphis RiverKings game on Saturday night January 24 at 7 P.M. @ Conseco Fieldhouse, the Ice is Packing the House by traveling throughout Central Indiana in what some experts have called---the new athlete vehicle of choice for the 21st Century, a Mini Cooper.
The Ice team, led by General Manager Larry Linde, will travel around central Indiana to ticket selling events and promotions calling attention to Pack the House in a loaded Mini Cooper. The official Ice escort, mascot Slapshot will even travel in the back seat!! Linde stated, "It's no secret we're the little guy in town but big things often come in small packages. Much like a Mini Cooper the Ice are quick, sporty and cutting edge." He added, "What better way for the Ice to draw attention to Pack the House night than to travel Central Indiana in a big way in a Mini Cooper."
According to Ice team captain, Bernie John, "Move over Cadillac Escalade, Hummer 2 and Acura MDX, we are taking it to the streets in a Mini. When you see the Mini, think how big it can get at Conseco Fieldhouse with over 14,000 fans for hockey -- buy a ticket to help these great youth organizations. We are grateful to the folks at Dreyer Reinbold Mini Cooper for being so kind to allow us to use the Mini to draw attention to Pack the House 2004."
The beneficiaries of Pack the House Night 2004 are the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation-Indiana and Indianapolis Jr. Ice Youth Hockey Association. Each group is receiving an initial grant and a portion of all seats sold for the Pack the House Night. They will join the thousands of youth touched by Pack the House since its inception in 1995. In addition, the Ice will once again wear a special commemorative jersey designed by the children at St. Vincent Children's Hospital. The jerseys will be auctioned as part of the night's festivities with proceeds benefiting the hospital.
Over $300,000 has been raised for youth serving organizations since Pack the House started in 1995.
Tickets for the game are available at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S. Ayres, and the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Conseco Fieldhouse box offices or by calling (317) 239-5151 or online at ticketmaster.com.
