Sacramento, CA - For the second game in three days, Jordan Pacheco had three hits, including two doubles, but Tacoma couldn't come away with a victory over Sacramento, losing by the score of 6-2 on Sunday at Raley Field.

With this defeat, Tacoma falls to 49-58. The win for Sacramento brings their record to 58-49. Andrew Suarez (6-6) picked up the win for the River Cats. Darren McCaughan (0-3) took the loss for the Rainiers.

The Rainiers got the scoring started first, beginning in the second on a run-scoring single off the bat of Pacheco.

The Rainiers lost their lead, but got back into the scoring game in the fifth trailing 5-1. Tacoma pushed across one on an RBI single off the bat of Kelby Tomlinson.

The River Cats added to their lead after the fifth, scoring one more run on the way to a victory.

Reggie McClain was a bright spot out of the bullpen for the Rainiers, throwing 3.2 shutout innings while limiting Sacramento to one hit, walking none and striking out one.

Pacheco led the way offensively for Tacoma, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. His three hits improve his batting average to .269 this season. Eric Filia put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-4 with a double, improving his 2019 batting average to .286. Tomlinson also helped out for Tacoma, going 2-for-3. Sacramento's lineup was led by Joey Rickard, who went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI.

Collectively, Tacoma plated their two runs in the contest off of nine hits, three of which went for extra bases. The Rainiers didn't get any extra help from Sacramento pitchers either, as they didn't draw a walk.

The Rainiers are off on Tuesday before returning home for the start of a seven-game homestand, beginning with a three-game tilt against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Mike Curto will have full coverage on South Sound Talk 850 with audio streaming available on the Tacoma Rainiers TuneIn radio network.
