
P-Bruins Fall to Wolf Pack 3-2

Hartford, CT - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2 Saturday evening at the Hartford Civic Center. The P-Bruins got goals from Sean Curry and T.J. Trevelyan. Providence remains in second place in the Atlantic Division with 64 points and a 30-20-1-3 record, 64 points ahead of the third place Hartford Wolf Pack.
The Wolf Pack opened up a 1-0 lead at the 1:13 mark of the opening period. Nigel Dawes took a shot and P-Bruins goaltender Philippe Sauve made the save, but could not control the rebound. Brad Isbister took the loose puck and batted it into the back of the net. Ivan Baranka had the second assist. Hartford extended their lead by a goal at the 3:47 mark. This time it was Greg Moore sending the puck towards the net with the rebound being put home by Dwight Helminen. The Wolf Pack continued the scoring at the 12:43 mark. On a breakaway, Isbister sent the puck into the net off the crossbar for his second goal of the evening. Dawes and net minder Al Montoya recorded the assists. Providence answered back with a goal heading into the intermission. At the 15:18 mark Curry blasted the puck past Montoya from just inside the blue line. T.J. Trevelyan and Pascal Pelletier set up the goal. The P-Bruins went into the first intermission trailing the Wolf Pack 3-1.
The P-Bruins scored the lone goal in the second period. At the 6:03 mark, Trevelyan stole the puck and put a shot towards the Wolf Pack net. The puck grazed the glove of Montoya on its way into the Hartford net. The goal was unassisted as the P-Bruins went into the second intermission trailing 3-2. After a scoreless third period the Wolf Pack held on to win 3-2.
Sauve stopped 23 of 26 shots for the P-Bruins, while Montoya made 31 saves for the Wolf Pack. Providence was 0 for 5 on the power play, while Hartford went 0 for 5 on the man-advantage.
Providence returns to action at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday afternoon for Family Day against Hartford at 4:05 p.m. Fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $44, along with additional ticket, hot dog and soda packs for only $11.
