
Blackhawks Assign Pierre Parenteau to Admirals

CHICAGO, IL - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have assigned forward Pierre Parenteau to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.
Parenteau (pronounced "pa-REHN-toh"), 23, is a 5'11", 195 lb. right wing from Hull, Quebec. He had been recalled by the Blackhawks on February 7 th and appeared in five games for Chicago, posting one assist and two penalty minutes. He played in his first career NHL game on February 7th at Vancouver. He also picked up his first NHL point on February 14 th at Pittsburgh when he assisted on Martin St. Pierre's first career NHL goal.
Parenteau was acquired by the Blackhawks along with Bruno St. Jacques from the Anaheim Ducks for Matt Keith, Sebastien Caron and Chris Durno on December 28, 2006. He was originally drafted by the Ducks in the ninth round (264th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Parenteau has appeared in 44 AHL games this season between the Admirals and Portland Pirates, registering 19 goals and 24 assists with 37 penalty minutes and a +8 rating.
