
P-Bruins Fall to Falcons 4-1

Springfield, MA - The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 4-1 Saturday evening at the MassMutual Center. The P-Bruins got their lone goal from Kirk MacDonald. The P-Bruins return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. against the Connecticut Whale for Plush Snoopy Day.
Providence took a 1-0 lead at the 15:53 mark of the opening period. Jamie Tardif held the puck along the boards and passed it behind the net to Kevan Miller. He sent the puck towards the front of the net, where it was picked up by MacDonald, who tallied his second goal of the season. The Falcons tied the game at one at the 16:56 mark. Alexandre Giroux netted his 18th goal of the season, while Martin St. Pierre and Cam Atkinson recorded the assists. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.
After a scoreless second period, the Falcons took their first lead of the game at the 1:36 mark of the third period. Atkinson scored his 29th goal of the season, while St. Pierre picked up the lone assist. Springfield made it 3-1 at the 12:05 mark. Dane Byers tallied his 12th goal of the season, while Tomas Kubalik and Patrick Cullity grabbed the assists. Springfield finished off the scoring at the 18:56 mark with an empty net goal. St. Pierre netted his tenth goal of the season, while Giroux had the lone assist. The Falcons went onto the 4-1 victory.
Anton Khudobin stopped 24 of 27 shots for the P-Bruins, while Manny Legace made 30 saves for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins return to The Dunk Sunday for Plush Snoopy Day presented by MetLife at 4:05 p.m. against the Falcons.
