Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat will look to stay undefeated against the Houston Aeros in their fourth meeting of the season tonight. In their first season as division rivals the Heat have earned six of a possible six points in the eight game season-series to date.

Last night saw the Heat snap a three-game losing skid with a 3-2 win over the Aeros in the first of this two game set in the Fraser Valley, and first of six meetings in just 30 days between the West Division clubs. The only two prior meetings bookended a two-week road trip through Texas and Oklahoma in November.

Hugh Jessiman made quite a debut in Heat silks, as he scored the game's first goal, and helped set-up another that gave the Heat a 2-0 win. Jessiman's second period tally was his 21st of the season - in just 44 games - which sets a new career best for the veteran of over 400 AHL contests.

The Heat currently sit in sixth spot in the Western Conference, tied with 57 points, but ahead on tie-breakers with the San Antonio Rampage and the Peoria Rivermen. The Heat remain five points back of the Houston Aeros - who are sitting in fourth spot - while holding two games in hand.

Tonight's games can be heard on Country 107.1 FM in the Fraser Valley and the Lower Mainland. The 30-minute pre-game show begins at 6:30, with puck-drop at 7:00 PM. The game can be heard on the web on theAHL.com, Country 107.1's website, and is available via the Rogers Radio App on your wireless device.
