The P-Bruins scored a power play goal of their own in the first period. Jonathan Sigalet held the zone at the blueline and passed the puck to Healey halfway up the left wing. Healey fed the puck in front of the crease to Lundbohm who scored. The P-Bruins went into the first intermission trailing 2-1.
The Falcons retook a two goal lead early in the second period. Jay Rosehill scored an unassisted goal at the 2:05 mark on a shot from just inside the blueline. Providence answered back with an even strength goal from Healey at the 13:40 with Jason MacDonald setting up the play as the P-Bruins headed into the second intermission down 3-2.
With just under thirty second left in regulation the P-Bruins pulled goaltender Andrew Raycroft for the extra attacker. Ben Walter picked up the puck in front of the net a got it past Falcons netminder Gerald Coleman to send the game into overtime.
After neither team was able to score in overtime the P-Bruins Zdenek Blatny got the lone goal in the shootout as Raycroft stopped all five Falcons shooters and the P-Bruins went on to win in a shootout 4-3.
Raycroft stopped 20 of 23 shots for the P-Bruins after being sent down from Boston on a conditioning assignment. Gerald Coleman stopped 36 of 39 for the Falcons. The P-Bruins were 1 for 7 on the power play, while Springfield was 2 for 6 on the man-advantage.
