
P-Bruins continue exhibition season

The Providence Bruins continue their 2002-03 exhibition season on Friday, October 4, when they host the Lowell Lock Monsters at the Bridgewater (MA) Ice Arena at 7:05 p.m. The Black and Gold opened the exhibition season on Wednesday night at Boss Arena at the University of Rhode Island, skating to a 7-3 victory over the Springfield Falcons. The P-Bruins open the regular season in Saint John, New Brunswick on October 11 and 12.

The Bruins' attack on Wednesday night was paced by right wing Pat Leahy, who scored two goals, while centers Matt Herr and Kris Vernarsky added one apiece. Defensemen Kevin Dallman, Brian White and Peter Metcalf also scored. Right wings Lee Goren and Brantt Myhres each added two assists.
Goaltender Andrew Raycroft stopped all 15 shots he faced for the win, while Peter Hamerlik stopped 15 of the 18 shots he faced in the second half of the game.
The P-Bruins wrap up the exhibition season on Saturday, October 5 at 7:35 p.m., when they visit the Falcons at the Springfield Civic Center.
The Bruins' home opener will be played on Friday, October 18 at 7:05 p.m. against the Falcons. Tickets for October 18, as well as all regular season P-Bruins games are available online on the Bruins' website, www.providencebruins.com, all TicketMaster outlets (401-331-2211 or 508/617-931-2000) and the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence box office.
