Hartford, October 3, 2002 -- Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Al Coates announced today that the team will hold its inaugural "Kids' Opening Day" at the Hartford Civic Center Sunday, October 27, when the Wolf Pack hosts the Albany River Rats (4:00 faceoff).

"We really want our young fans to know that they are important to us," Coates said. "We already offer one of the best deals in Connecticut with our kids' ticket ($10 each) for all of our home games, and Kids' Opening Day is another way for youngsters to have some extra fun with the Wolf Pack."

The first 1,000 kids 12 and under who pass through the gates for that game will receive a free Wolf Pack frosty mug, a coupon for a free quart of Brigham's Ice Cream, plus a voucher for a free children's ticket to the Wolf Pack's game October 30 vs. Manitoba. That October 30 game is the Wolf Pack's "Trick or Treat" night.

The Pack's regular-season home opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 vs. the Manchester Monarchs (7:00). Wolf Pack 2002-03 season-ticket, multi-game, coupon book and group-discount packages, as well as single-game tickets, are all currently on sale.
