Alaska Aces News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - Alex Krushelnyski scored the game-winning goal, Bryan Moore had a goal and an assist and Mark Owuya made 33 saves to help the Utah Grizzlies to a 2-0 win over the Alaska Aces and a sweep of the two-game series at the Maverik Center.

Utah beat the Aces 6-2 Friday.

Saturday, a largely nondescript first period had the Aces unable to score on two power play opportunities, and the Grizzlies one. Shots on goal were few...6 for Alaska and just 3 for Utah. Alaska came close in the first minute as Alec Hajdukovich's bullet from the left circle rang the post.

The only goal of the second period came at 16:44, and it was the game winner. TJ Syner worked hard behind the Alaska net to get the puck to Moore. He fired it out of the right corner to an unmarked Krushelnyski at the far post. He banged the puck past Aces goaltender Jacob DeSerres for his 25th goal of the season. No penalties were called...shots on goal came up a bit...20 for Alaska and 13 for the Grizzlies through two periods.

In the third period, a goal by Moore at 4:46 helped cushion the load on Owuya. The Aces pressed hard, but couldn't beat the Grizzlies goalie who collected his first shutout.

Alaska outshot Utah 33-23 for the game.

The Aces return to the Sullivan Arena to close out the 2015-16 season with a three-game series vs Colorado beginning Wednesday, April 6.
