April 3, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Toledo Walleye News Release
(Toledo, OH) Tylor Spink set up his twin brother Tyson Spink just 18 seconds into overtime to pick up a 2-1 win over Wheeling Sunday at the Huntington Center. Toledo has an overall record of 46-19-2-3 and 26-8-0-1 on home ice.
Toledo opened the scoring as Kyle Bonis (14th) took a pass from Tyson Spink and roofed a wrist shot past Wheeling goaltender Franky Palazzese at 12:06 of the first period. Wheeling counted when a wrist shot from Anton Zlobin beat Toledo goaltender Jeff Lerg at 15:15 of the first.
Neither team scored over the remaining two periods to set up a quick overtime period. Tyson Spink carried the puck into the Wheeling zone, dropped a behind the back pass to Tylor Spink in the corner. Tylor waited a second then fed Tyson heading to the net for his 2nd goal of the season just 18 seconds into the OT. It was the second game-winning goal of the weekend for Tyson.
Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg (28-10-3) picked up his 28th win of the season stopping 24 of Wheeling's 25 shots on goal. Toledo finished the season series with a record of 5-2-0 against Wheeling. Toledo held a 31-25 shot advantage in the game.
