Albany Devils News Release
Lowell, Mass. - Jeremy Colliton scored 17 seconds into overtime to spoil the Lowell Lock Monsters (15-20-3-4) would-be comeback and give the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (19-19-2-2) a 3-2 win at Tsongas Arena Sunday evening.
The first period moved at a quick pace but Bridgeport took the lead, as they have in every meeting so far this season. Wyatt Smith banging in a loose puck while on the power play to make it 1-0. Lowell enjoyed the lead in shots during much of the opening frame, and took a 12-10 advantage into the dressing room after one, but continued to trail by a goal.
While shorthanded early in the second the Monsters tied the game. Bridgeport G Frederic Cloutier coughed up the puck behind his own net to Keith Aucoin, who swung around the front of the net and slipped it in off Cloutier's skate to knot the score at one. The Tigers led in shots during the second, 10-6, but Kolesnik held off every chance, including denying former Monster Allan Rourke on a breakaway in the final minute of the frame.
Cloutier made a couple of big saves early in the third, including a point-blank chance by Lowell Captain Paul Healey just over two minutes in. At 7:40 of the third the Sound Tigers added their second power play goal of the night. Joel Bouchard's wrister from the right point snuck through traffic and snapped the tie score for Bridgeport. The clock wound down inside three minutes remaining when Lowell tied the game. Nicolas Corbeil notched a goal for the second straight game, snapping a wrister over the shoulder of Cloutier for the equalizer.
Overtime didn't last long. Colliton's tally tickled the twine for his 10th of the season just 17 seconds into the extra session and gave the Tigers their fifth win in as many tries against Lowell.
