HAMILTON BULLDOGS AT ROCHESTER AMERICANS

The Hamilton Bulldogs (16-25-0-2) face the Rochester Americans (20-18-1-1) tonight in the second game of a home-and-home series. This will be the sixth meeting of the season between these two teams.

The Americans defeated the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3 last night at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, and lead the season series with a record of 4-1-0-0.

BULLDOGS NOTES FROM LAST NIGHT'S GAME

- LW Jean-Francois Jacques scored his team-leading 12th goal of the season.

- RW Pierre Dagenais posted his first point as a Bulldog this season, earning an assist. Dagenais has played two games since being assigned to Hamilton by the Montreal Canadiens on January 10.

- LW Brad Winchester recorded an assist in his first game since being assigned to Hamilton by the Edmonton Oilers on January 10.

- LW Raitis Ivanans played in his 100th game as a Bulldog last night.

- The Bulldogs had 19 shots on net in the second period, which is the most shots the team has taken in one period this season. Hamilton also tied their season-high for shots on goal in one game with 44.

- Canadiens C Mike Ribeiro (1g-1a) and C Chris Higgins (1g) each scored in Montreal's 6-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks last night.

- Oilers D Marc-Andre Bergeron posted two goals and added an assist, while C Shawn Horcoff had two assists as Edmonton fell by a score of 5-3 to the Ottawa Senators.

- Blue Jackets LW Jason Chimera scored a goal, while Panthers D Alexei Semenov earned an assist as Columbus defeated Florida 5-4 in overtime.

- Rangers RW Jason Ward earned an assist as New York dropped a 4-3 decision to the Detroit Red Wings.

BULLDOGS FACE MANITOBA ON FRIDAY

The Bulldogs next action will take place on Friday, January 20, when they face the Manitoba Moose in the first of back-to-back games at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Game time is 8:30 p.m. This game can be seen live on Rogers Sportsnet.
