Evansville Otters News Release
August 2ND
Kalamazoo, MI - The Otters fell to Kalamazoo tonight by a final of 5-2, but it was closer than the score tells. Evansville fell behind early 3-0 in the first inning, but closed within one run after Kyle Smith's two-run homer in the third, his third long ball of the season. The score would stay that will till the eighth, when Justin Jordan and the Otters ran into some bad luck. Three infield singles and a fielders choice plated two runs for the Kings, but the Otters would battle in the ninth. After the first two were struck out, Evansville got back to back hits from Justin Carr and a double from Ryan Sickles, then a walk to JC Field loaded the bases for Smith. He would drill a line drive that was caught by a leaping shortstop that would end the game. Justin Jordan pitched another complete game in a losing effort for the Otters who are back at it tomorrow night at 6:05CDT.
