Otters Host Breast Cancer Awareness Night with First Place on the Line

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The first place Evansville Otters (47-30) continue a three-game weekend series against the first place Washington Wild Things (48-31) on Saturday night.

First pitch is set for 6:35 pm CDT at historic Bosse Field in Evansville, Indiana.

It is Breast Cancer Awareness Night sponsored by Marathon and Comfort Inn.

The Otters will wear special pink colored jerseys that will be auctioned off at the end of the night. There will also be postgame fireworks, sponsored by Marathon and Comfort Inn.

Tickets are limited and fans can call 812-435-8686 to reserve yours today.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski and color commentator Bill McKeon will have the call beginning at 6:15 pm CDT.

Evansville will have RHP Connor Little (1-0, 0.00 ERA) on the mound. Little will be making his second start with the Otters. He threw 8.0 scoreless innings last week in his Otters debut in a win over River City.

Evansville is 45-56 all-time against Washington. The Otters won two of three meetings against the Wild Things in July at Bosse Field. This is game five of the nine meetings between the two clubs this season.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Houck is on a 16 game hitting streak for the Otters. Outfielder John Schultz (10) also has an extended hitting streak as well. Outfielder Chris Elder has hit safely in eight straight games. First baseman Nik Balog is on a 7 game hitting streak.

The Otters are 26-15 at home this season.
