(O'Fallon, Missouri) - The Evansville Otters continued their season-long nine game road trip at River City on Friday, but fell in the opening contest 6-3.

Tony Marsala was making his season debut with the River City Rascals but fell behind early on a first inning RBI single from Frank Martinez.

After River City rallied to score three runs against Evansville's starting pitcher Garrett Bullock, Frank Martinez struck again in the third for another RBI double, pulling the Otters within a run.

Down 3-2, Evansville tied the game in the fifth on a run-producing single to center field from Deangelo Mack only to witness Charlie Lisk hit a solo home run for Gateway in the bottom of the inning.

The Rascals led 4-3 at that point and added two late runs for the Friday night win.

River City improves to a Frontier League best 11-2 as the Evansville Otters have lost their third straight game and now stand at 5-8.

Marsala (1-0) earns the win for the Rascals, allowing four runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings. Garrett Bullock (0-2) receives the loss for the Otters, allowing four runs (three earned) in six innings pitched.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. as right-hander Keli'i Zablan (1-0, 2.84 Earned Run Average) will start for River City and fellow righty Bryce Morrow (2-0, 1.39 ERA) will be on the mound for Evansville.
