London Rippers News Release

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS - Jet Butler hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 11th, capping off an 8-7 Rockford win over the London Rippers (3-10).

Rockford came into the bottom of the 9th, trailing 7-3 but three errors, two hits and a sacrifice fly scored four runs to tie the game. The inning was capped off by Field Manager, David Martin's ejection on a close call at 3rd base.

All four runs in the 9th were unearned, in fact, only two of the 8 runs scored by Rockford tonight were earned as the Rippers' defense coughed up five errors.

The night started well for London. Zach Larson hit his second home run of the season in the 2nd to put the Rippers up 2-0. It was immediately followed by a Clifton Thomas bomb, increasing the lead to 3-0 after 2 innings.

The Rippers put two more on the scoreboard in the 3rd, thanks to two Rockford errors and an RBI single by Joash Brodin.

Brodin also went deep, smashing his 4th homer of the year to right in the 4th inning, scoring Tony Delmonico and extending the lead to 7-0 London.

Rockford put up 3 runs in the 7th and after a perfect 8th by Matt Brennan, he and David Francis (0-2) could not seal the deal in the 9th .

London's offense put up 14 hits in the win, including three from Brodin, Delmonico and Aaron Glaum.

London and Rockford meet up again tomorrow night at 6:05pm Central Time at RiverHawk Stadium. Matt Schimpf makes his first start of the year for London against Nick Sariandes for the RiverHawks.
