Evansville Otters News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN â After falling behind 10-5, the Otters tried furiously to come back, scoring four runs in the ninth inning, but the rally came up short as the Chillicothe Paints prevailed in game one of a three game series 10-9.
Evansville took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third without the benefit of a hit as after a couple of walks, the Paints committed two of their six errors allowing the three runs to come in.
The Otters took a 5-4 lead into the top of the eighth, where the Paints scored two unearned runs. Chillicothe scored four more in the ninth to make it 10-5 and seemingly put the game out of reach.
But the never say die Otters came back with a vengeance scoring four runs and had the tying run on second before Ramon Royce was able to get a final strikeout to end the game.
In game two the Otters send Scott Barber to the mound against Josh Rahrer from Chillicothe.
