Grizzlies rout Ducks

The Grizzlies scored nine runs on nine consecutive hits, all with two outs, in the fifth inning en route to a 13-1 victory over the Springfield/Ozark Ducks Saturday night at GMC Stadium. The win came in front of 6,917 fans at GMC Stadium. The crowd was the third-highest in franchise history.

The Grizzlies are now even with the Ducks. Both teams have a 27-22 record.

Greg Stevens and Jimmy Reiter each had three-run home runs in the inning. Ryan Sullivan hit a solo shot to follow Reiter's three-run blast. Reiter was 1-4 on the night. Stevens was 2-4. Todd Oetting was 2-5 with two RBIs. Wayne Astrauskas was 2-4 with two RBIs. Daylon Monette also had an RBI for the Grizzlies.

Kevin Lee (5-2) picked up the win for the Grizzlies. Lee went the first five innings allowing the run on just three hits. He struck out five. Ted Rowe finished the game, going four innings without a run on three hits. He struck out four to earn the first save of his career.

The Grizzlies and Ducks continue the series with a 6:05 game Sunday night at GMC Stadium.
