Otters clinch playoff spot
August 27, 2004 - Frontier League (FL)
Evansville Otters News Release
EVANSVILLE, IN â For the fourth time in five nights, the Evansville Otters shut out their opponent, blanking the Richmond Roosters a third time in a row winning 3-0. The win, combined with Kalamazoo's loss to Washington clinches a playoff spot for the Otters.
This time it was Jeremy Lewis' day to turn the trick as the lefthander allowed just two hits in the complete game victory. The Otters got all the runs they would need in the second and then tacked on an insurance run in the seventh on a David Trujillo RBI double.
Lewis allowed only one walk while striking out seven in picking up his ninth win of the season.
Evansville now heads to Florence for three games before starting the Frontier League Division Series on Wednesday night in Washington. The Otters first home playoff game will be next Friday at 7:05 p.m.
Otters' playoff tickets are now on sale at the Bosse Field ticket office. For more information, the Otters can be reached at 435-8686.
