Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa 67's announced on Tuesday that the team's fourth round pick, 83rd overall in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Ranvir Gill-Shane, has committed to the team.
The Kanata native, who was just named CCHL Rookie of the Month for November, was drafted by the 67's after putting up 35 points (8G, 27A) in 45 games last season for the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the HEOMAAA. This season, Gill-Shane has been able to collect 20 points (7G, 13A) in 30 games with the Jr. Senators in the CCHL. On top of having great performances on the ice this season, Gill-Shane has also excelled in the classroom, as he was also just named the Academic High School Player of the Month in the CCHL, with an average of 89% in his Grade 11 courses.
"Ranvir is a mobile skater with size and skill," said 67's General Manager James Boyd. "We are excited that Ranvir has chosen to further his development with the 67's."
Gill-Shane will be joining the team as soon as Tuesday. The Barber Poles will be in action this week end inside The Arena at TD Place, when they take on the Barrie Colts on Saturday and the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday, both in afternoon 2:00 PM contests.
