Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - The OHL's first place Peterborough Petes are in action twice on home ice this week.
On Thursday they invite fans to be one with the Force as they kick off the week with Star Wars Night on December 12 against the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7:05pm. Fans are encouraged to wear their best Star Wars costume for a chance to win a prize.
The game is sponsored by The Home Depot, who will be giving free mini sticks to the first 3,000 fans in the building. They'll also be selling $5 autographed mystery pucks in support of the YES Shelter for Youth and Families. The lucky fan that purchases the puck autographed in gold will win a $100 gift card to The Home Depot.
Local charity Cuddles for Cancer will be on hand in the north lobby selling their trademark blankets.
On Saturday, December 14 at 7:05pm the Petes will host the Niagara IceDogs on SickKids Night. A pre-game ceremony will feature Oliver, a young boy from Peterborough who has been treated at SickKids with a severe form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta (known as brittle bone syndrome), and his family.
The game is sponsored by Wawanesa. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Wawanesa's toy drive, which will locally support Salvation Army Peterborough. Fans who donate a toy can enter to win a trip for two to the 2020 Memorial Cup presented by Kia.
Two lucky fans will take part in an intermission remote-control car race for a chance to win a prize courtesy of Wawanesa.
In between home games, the Petes will travel to Oshawa to face the rival Generals on Friday, December 13 at 7:35pm.
Single game tickets for all Petes regular season home games are now on sale at the PMC Grant Thornton Box office in person, by phone at (705) 743-3561, or online. To view the Petes' full schedule, click here.
