
O'sullivan Joins Royals, Lerew Designated for Assignment

NEW YORK, NY (July 23, 2010) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that right-handed pitcher Sean O'Sullivan has reported to the club in New York and was added to the active roster prior to tonight's game. In a corresponding roster move, right-handed pitcher Anthony Lerew was designated for assignment.
The 22-year old O'Sullivan is scheduled to make his Royals debut in a start on Sunday in New York against the Yankees. The right-hander, acquired yesterday in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in five appearances, including one start, this season.
Lerew, 27, compiled a 1-4 record and an 8.54 ERA in six starts for the Royals.
