Torra Pitches Eight Strong Innings As Aces Win, 10-3

Matt Torra gave up only two runs in eight innings while Ryan Roberts and Brandon Allen each hit two-run home runs as the Reno Aces beat the Portland Beavers 10-3 Thursday night at PGE Park.

Torra (7-6) allowed six hits in his second eight-inning outing of the season at PGE Park.

Chris Rahl and Pedro Ciriaco each finished with two hits and Mark Hallberg added a solo home run as the Aces (41-58) combined for 12 hits.

Dusty Ryan finished with a double and a home run while Kyle Phillips hit his first home run of the season at PGE Park for the Beavers (37-61).

Portland starter Cesar Ramos (2-4) gave up five runs (4 earned) on eight hits and three walks in four innings.

The Aces scored three runs in the first inning, highlighted by Roberts' two-run homer over the left field wall.

In his 83rd game of the season, Hallberg hit his first home run to give Reno a 5-0 lead in the fourth.

Phillips' home run, a two-run shot over the right field wall, cut the Aces' lead to 5-2 in the fourth.

Allen hit a two-run home run over the PGE icon in right-center to extend the Aces lead to 10-2 in the eighth.

The Beavers and Las Vegas 51s begin a four-game series Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Cashman Field.

NOTES: In the 787th game of his career, Sean Kazmar played outfield for the first time when he entered the game as a left fielder in the fifth inning.
