July 23, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release

The Zephyrs scored two first inning runs and let their pitching staff silence the Omaha Royals in a 2-1 win on Friday night in front of 15,316 fans at Rosenblatt Stadium. The high powered offense of the Zephyrs that scored an average of 9 runs per game in its previous four games picked up right where it left off. Scott Cousins drilled a solo home run to lead off the game. The Z's loaded the bases and Brett Carroll drew a bases loaded walk for the second run. Omaha outfielder David Lough smoked a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. The Z's and Royals pitching staffs silenced the offense for the remaining innings. Rick Vandenhurk pitched seven innings and earned the win. Scott Strickland worked the ninth inning and earned his 12th save of the year. The Z's snapped a three game losing streak.
