
David DeJesus to Undergo Surgery on His Right Thumb

NEW YORK, NY (July 23, 2010) - The Kansas City Royals announced today that outfielder David DeJesus has been placed on the 15-day Disabled List and will undergo surgery on Monday, July 26 to repair a complete tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb. The surgery will be performed at the Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Tom Graham. The recovery period is a minimum of 10 weeks.
Outfielder Alex Gordon was recalled from Triple-A Omaha prior to tonight's game.
