Osprey Move into 1st Place Tie with 6-3 Win

MISSOULA, MT - Winning eight of their last ten games, the Missoula Osprey sit tied for first in the Pioneer League North Division standings with Idaho Falls. The 6-3 win over the Orem Owlz Friday night made it five-straight home wins.

Osprey 1B Spencer Brickhouse led the way offensively, going 3-4 with an RBI at the plate. Missoula SS Liover Peguero was not far behind, 2-4 on the night, also knocking in a run. Osprey outfielder Kevin Watson homered for the third time in the last five games. With Missoula tied for the top spot in the North with Idaho Falls, nine of the remaining twelve games of the first-half will be played at home.

The best pitching staff in the Pioneer League was loose once more on Friday night, combining for 15 strikeouts on Orem batters, only allowing one walk. Right-hander Liu Fuenmayor earned his second win of the season, not allowing a run or hit, while striking out five. Fellow righty Ryan Fritze came in for the final frame, topping out at 97 mph for his third save on the season.

A four-game series ends tomorrow night, as Missoula looks to sweep the Orem Owlz. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm. Get to the ballpark to help Missoula celebrate their first Timberjacks Saturday, as the home team will wear commemorative jerseys and caps to pay tribute to their former team name.
