
Osprey Drop Final Game of Series to Billings, 9-2

MISSOULA, MT - Wrapping up a seven-game home stand, the Missoula Osprey (21-20) fell to the Billings Mustangs (17-24), 9-2, on Sunday at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field. DH Axel Andueza finished 2-4, extending his hit streak to 14 games. O's right-hander Austin Pope (L, 0-2) allowed four runs on four hits, striking out one batter in 1.2 innings of work. Mustangs' relief pitcher Omar Conoropo (W, 4-0) allowed one run on four hits, striking out two batters in four innings.
Osprey left fielder Kevin Watson recorded two base hits, and shortstop Liover Peguero ended his night 1-4, scoring once. Catcher Luvin Valbuena finished 1-4, driving in a run on a single in the 9th .
RF Tristen Carranza ended 1-3 on the evening, extending his on-base streak to 13 games. Carranza has reached base safely in 40 of 41 games this season.
Missoula heads to Idaho Falls for a three-game series to end the month of July; first game vs the Chukars will be Monday night at 7:15 pm. The next home stand begins on August 1, when the Great Falls Voyagers come to Missoula for a three-game series.
Thursday, August 1 will be Stadium Happy Hour at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field. Gates open at 6:00, with first pitch against the Voyagers at 7:05 pm.
