In Updated D-Backs Prospect List, Peguero 16th

MISSOULA, MT - An updated, mid-season re-ranking of each professional club's prospect list has Missoula's shortstop Liover Peguero ranking 16th of all Diamondbacks prospects. Arizona acquired Peguero as an international free agent in 2017, who boasts a .372 BA in 32 games.

After signing with Arizona in 2017, when he was just 16, Peguero began his play in the Dominican Summer League the following season. After batting .197 in 19 games in the Arizona League in 2018, Peguero met the challenge of rookie-advanced ball this season, with 45 hits in 32 games.

From June 19-July 2 this year, Peguero rode an 11-game hit streak, averaging .465 in that span.

Three other shortstops currently rank above Peguero in the Diamondbacks' Top -30 list, including Jazz Chisholm (1), Geraldo Perdomo (7), and Blaze Alexander (15), all who spent time with the Osprey.

Peguero's ability to draw solid contact improved this season, earning a 55 rank for hit, and a 60 for his speed. MLB Pipeline noticed Peguero's field play, with a 55 in both the arm and field categories.
