Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, ON - Oshawa Generals General Manager, Roger Hunt announced today that the Oshawa Generals have acquired Brent Pedersen from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for draft picks.

Brent Pedersen, a left-winger and native of Arthur, ON was drafted to the Kitchener Rangers in the first round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. This season, Brent has scored 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) for the Rangers in 33 games played. In addition, Pedersen won a bronze medal with Team Ontario at the 2012 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Brent was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Oshawa Generals General Manager, Roger Hunt says, "I'm happy to be able to add Brent to our roster. I first met Brent when I was the Assistant Coach of Team Ontario. Brent played a large role on that team helping that team to win a medal along with current General, Cole Cassels. He was a great teammate and will be a great addition to our lineup. He will provide size and strength on our wing."

Brent will make his debut with the Oshawa Generals tonight in Kingston when the Generals take on the Frontenacs at the K-Rock Centre at 7 p.m. We welcome Brent to the Oshawa Generals family and wish him the best for the remainder of the 2014-15 season.
