Osceola Magic Fall to Wisconsin Herd at Home

January 29, 2024 - NBA G League (G League)
Osceola Magic News Release

The Osceola Magic lost to the Wisconsin Herd at Osceola Heritage Park 112-110 Monday night.

Jett Howard led the charge for Osceola with 26 points.

"Jett's growth has been great," Osceola Magic Head Coach Dylan Murphy said. "He's building for a long NBA career; we feel he is getting better every day. Our goal is to always share the ball. The roles don't change too much with the different players on the floor. It's professional basketball; the tight ones don't always go your way."

Kevon Harris also contributed 14 points and was one of six Magic players who scored in double figures.

"Jett [Howard] hit some really tough shots at the end of the game; he's a great scorer," Harris said. "They went on a stretch at the end of the game and gained momentum. We got discombobulated towards the end."

A back-and-forth first half battle continued into the third quarter, where Osceola seized the lead thanks to a 10-0 run. The Magic capitalized on Wisconsin turnovers, scoring 21 points off the errors. The Magic relinquished the lead with 1:41 remaining in the game, but Howard sank a crucial three-point shot to tie the game with 11.6 seconds left. However, Osceola ultimately could not secure the victory, as Wenyen Gabriel hit the game-winning shot.

The Osceola Magic (7-5), NBA G League Affiliate of the Orlando Magic, will host the Delaware Blue Coats, Wednesday, January 31 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee at 7 p.m. for their Star Wars Night. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a lightsaber. For ticket information, please call 407-447-2140 or log onto OsceolaMagic.com. The game will stream on ESPN+.
