
Orlando City SC Loans Forward Alexander Alvarado to Liga Deportiva Universitaria

ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando City SC forward Alexander Alvarado will join Liga Deportiva Universitaria, commonly referred to as LDU, of Ecuador's Liga Pro Banco Pichincha on a free loan for the 2022 season with an option to buy before Dec. 1, it was announced today.
"Alexander is someone who has put in a lot of effort since joining our Club and has always maintained a strong work ethic," said Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi. "This loan presents him with a unique opportunity to gain valuable minutes while also returning home. We look forward to seeing his growth throughout his time in Ecuador."
The Quevedo, Ecuador native has made two starts through 12 appearances for the Lions since joining the Club on loan at the end of 2020, making his Club debut on Oct. 28, 2020, in a 4-1 win over Atlanta United.
Alvarado, 22, has made two appearances for the senior Ecuador national team, making his international debut and notching his first assist on Sept. 11, 2017. He has 17 appearances, four goals and two assists under his belt with Ecuador's U20 side, including three finishes at the U-20 South American Championship 2019 and one at the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2019 in Poland.
