
Orioles Select Contract of INF Steve Tolleson; Option LHP Zach Phillips

The Orioles today announced that they have selected the contract of INF STEVE TOLLESON and optioned LHP ZACH PHILLIPS to Triple-A Norfolk.
Tolleson, 28, batted .265/.357/.361 with one home run and 11 RBI in 26 games with the Tides this season. He was signed by the Orioles as a minor league free agent on November 22, 2011 and batted .258 (8-31) as a non-roster invitee at spring training. Tolleson will wear uniform #6.
Phillips, 25, allowed two earned runs in 0.2 innings of work last night in his first appearance of the season for the Orioles.
To make room for Tolleson on the 40-man roster, CA TAYLOR TEAGARDEN was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
