Fresno Grizzlies News Release
San Antonio, Texas - The San Antonio Missions (70-42) squeezed past the Fresno Grizzlies (53-59) 3-2 in 12 innings from Nelson Wolff Stadium Saturday evening. For consecutive nights, the game went into extras tied at zero and concluded in a San Antonio walk-off. Fresno dropped their eighth straight contest, a season-long and moved to .500 in extras (7-7). The 12 frames were the most innings played by the Grizzlies this year.
Logan Ondrusek dominated for Fresno in his homecoming. The Hallettsville native logged a season-high seven shutout innings, allowing one hit and two walks. Ondrusek struck out six in the no-decision effort. Carter Kieboom and Drew Ward tallied two hits apiece for Fresno. Kieboom smashed a pair of doubles and one RBI in the loss. Raudy Read rocked his third triple of the 2019 campaign, scoring Kieboom in the 10th.
San Antonio rallied two different times to pick up the victory. A Troy Stokes sacrifice fly knotted the game in the 10th. Two frames later, Cory Spangenberg mustered a single to right. That would provide Hernan Perez to clobber a game-ending single to left. Missions reliever Deolis Guerra (3-0) received the winning nod while Grizzlies youngster Joan Baez (0-1) suffered the defeat.
