Nelson Cruz and Nate Gold powered the RedHawks to a 6-1 win over the Express. Both players hit two-run home runs, and those, coupled with a three hit game from Ryan Roberts, was enough for Doug Mathis and the Oklahoma bullpen. Mathis pitched five innings, his shortest outing of the season, but still earned his third win. Four relievers combined to finish off the game for the RedHawks, who saw their staff strikeout a season high 13 batters, but also walk a season-high eight as well.

STREAKS ROLL ON:

Jason Ellison extended his hitting streak to seven straight games, closely followed by six-game runs for Brandon Boggs, Nelson Cruz, and German Duran. The longest streaks thus far around the PCL have been maxed out at nine games, although Portland's Luis Rodriguez could have the first ten-game hitting streak with a hit in his next game. Brandon Wood of Salt Lake and Andrew Beattie of Albuquerque have also gotten hits in nine consecutive games, but their streaks ended earlier this week.

HOME RUN TROTS:

The RedHawks have hit at least one home run in five consecutive games dating back to the start of the series in Albuquerque. This power surge followed the Nashville series when Oklahoma failed to go yard in four straight. The RedHawks have hit eight home runs over the last five games, including five over the last two games.

DURAN RETURNS:

German Duran returned to the lineup after missing three games with a left hand injury. Duran suffered the problem sliding into third on a triple Friday night at Albuquerque, although he did not leave the contest.

ROSTER MOVES:

RedHawks reliever Bill White was placed on the disabled list earlier today, and the Texas Rangers promoted pitcher Kendy Batista from Frisco to Oklahoma to fill the spot in the bullpen. Batista was selected from Baltimore in the Triple-A phase of the 2006 Rule 5 draft and split times between Bakersfield, Frisco, and the AZL Rangers last season.

ROUND ROCK AT A GLANCE:

Catcher Humberto Quintero's contract was purchased by Houston prior yesterday's game. Quintero hit .333 (1-3) for the Express this season... The Express swiped three more bases last night, including two on a double steal by Lance Niekro and J.R. House. Round Rock has 16 steals as a team this year, six more than Colorado Springs and Nashville, who are tied for second...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION:

Texas fell to the LA Angels 7-4 for the second straight day... Arkansas edged Frisco 10-8 in 10 innings... Bakersfield had the day off... Quad Cities doubled up Clinton 10-5.

DOT-DOT-DOT:

Relief pitcher Steve Rowe was placed on the disabled list yesterday, retroactive to April 13... Sidney Ponson will make his third appearance in the last six games when he takes the mound for Oklahoma. Ponson left Friday's start in the third inning after taking a John Gall line drive off his right arm. Ponson also pitched in relief on Monday... Jarrod Saltalamacchia had his hitting streak snapped at five games with an 0-4 performance last night. The RedHawks catcher hit .444 during the five game run, with a double, triple, home run, and seven runs batted in...
